If you came here to learn a little more about this website and its author, me, I can help you, because, since I am me, I am on the inside track. I am all over the situation.

This site is a weblog, which is "...a hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data, arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser", which is to say that I post whatever the hell I feel like on a regular basis.

I go by the name of Schmutzie (shmuht'sē). It is not my name by birth, but do not let that put you off. Half of my friends in my offline life call me Schmutzie, so what you get here is less an alter ego and more a conjoined split personality, for which I will not go to therapy, because we get along so swimmingly.

I write about the Palinode, our two cats, and what it is like to live as an atheist, a photographer, a writer, a website designer, a knitter, a feminist, and a thirty-something, non-gender-specific, biological female post-hysterectomy in a heterosexual marriage who spends eight hours a day in a beige cubicle. I also have a deep fondness for all things bacon-related, the doxology (a musical holdover from my Mennonite upbringing), and shopping on Etsy.

Milkmoney or Not, Here I Come began on August 25, 2003 and was originally hosted by Diaryland. Now it is hosted by Blogger and has been since July 2005. Most, if not all, aspects of the site design are 100% pure Schmutzie and were hard won through many, many hours spent teaching myself HTML and every other computery thing I needed to know, because I had previously only ever used WordPerfect. Unless otherwise attributed, the images on this website are created by me and are sometimes touched up in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Some images are duplicated using a Canon CanoScan 5000F scanner. The cameras I use are a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 35mm SLR camera, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20, a Holga 120N/Holgaroid, a Polaroid Spirit, and an Olympus Stylus 790 SW. For the body text, I use Verdana as the font for its familiarity and readability. Georgia is the font I use for the titles text, just because.
